Happy All The Time

Every one of us values happiness in life. Without happiness, there is no enjoyment and life is dull. Since we value happiness, we all look for ways to achieve it in our life and we all know that life is hard and being happy 24/7 is quite impossible.

For some people, happiness is easy to achieve, especially when they have lots of money, friends and everything they desire all comes to them. For these people, being happy all the time can be effortless but for others feeling happy even for a day seems so hard to do. It is very difficult to be happy when you are in an unpleasant situation. On the other hand, it is very easy to stay happy when everything is fine.

We all know we have limited time to live and it is a waste of time to focus on problems and sulk around and figure how we can be happy next time. It is true that life is sometimes not fair and some have more while others have less to enjoy. Nonetheless, we should not lose hope but should continue to find solution on how we can be happier in life.

Now, maybe you are a lucky person who can be happy most of the time of your life then you needs to keep that. However, those who are used to a happy life, be wary because nothing in this life is permanent.

If you are a person who thinks that life sucks most of the time, there are ways you can help yourself out. One of the ways is to build a healthy lifestyle that should be developed and maintained. Many people have unhealthy lifestyles that they don’t know are affecting their happiness in life. If you don’t care about your health it affects your mood and will make you sickly. Unhealthy lifestyle can also drain your energy and bring damages to your body. So, take a good amount of sleep, eat foods that are nutritious and stay away from unhealthy addictions.

Maintaining good relationship with those around us can also ensure happiness in life. Strong social support is good for our self-esteem. Thus, we should choose people that truly love and care for us.

Another way is to have a clear purpose in life. If we are purpose driven, we have something that keeps us on the move which in turn will fuel us and energise us.

We also need to learn to be grateful with small stuffs. Contentment would give us peace and happiness no matter how much or little we have. The simple act of counting every blessing we have and appreciating common things will keep us happy. Even if you don’t have great things in life, there are surely things that you simply cannot buy but you have for free, like your family, your health or your friends.

But we have to realise that we cannot be constantly happy because problems, difficulties and tragedies can come along unexpectedly in life. In fact, there are some who feel that if we were to be happy all the time, we wouldn't be human. We'd be so alien. We wouldn't be able to empathise with other people.

I've always been a really optimistic and happy-go-lucky kind of guy. But I don't think I'm alien and I don't think I have an inadequate ability to empathise with people. I'm into feeling joyous all the time and will as far as possible not do it at the expense of another’s misfortune.

To me, happiness is a state of the mind and how we choose to view the world. If you want to be happy you will be, if you don't you won’t and it really is that simple.
